Directions to our meeting location for trips on the South Fork of the American River

Our meeting place for trips on the South Fork of the American River is Camp Lotus, located right on the river .  The phone number for Camp Lotus is 530-622-8672. 

Camp Lotus is about 45 minutes from Sacramento (about 40 miles) and about 2 hours and 15 minutes from San Francisco (about 130 miles).

Directions from Sacramento, California

 Take Hwy 50 East towards Placerville and South Lake Tahoe.  About 30 miles from Sacramento take the North Shingle Springs Road/Mother Lode Drive exit.  This exit is just after the Cameron Park exit.  At the stop light go left back over the freeway.  Take the first road on the other side of the freeway (N. Shingle Road towards Coloma and Georgetown.  North Shingle Road eventually becomes Lotus Road.)   Travel approximately 11 miles until you get to the stop sign at Bassi Road coming in on your left.  Turn left on Bassi Road and go about 1 mile to Camp Lotus.  Turn right into Camp Lotus.  We will meet you in the main parking lot area.  Please check in with the camp store before proceeding to the main parking lot.

From Placerville, California

Take Hwy 49 north from Placerville.  About 9 miles from Placerville you will pass through Marshall Gold State Park.  About ½ mile later you will come to a stop sign where Lotus Road enters from the left.  Go left on Lotus Road about 1 mile to the next stop sign where Bassi Road enters on the right.  Turn right on Bassi Road and go about 1 mile to Camp Lotus.  Turn right into Camp Lotus.  We will meet you in the main parking lot area.  Please check in with the camp store before proceeding to the main parking lot.

From Auburn, California

Take Hwy 49 south from Auburn.  About 3 miles from Auburn you will come to a stop sign where hwy 49 goes right over a bridge across the American River.  Turn right and continue on Hwy 49 for approximately 7 miles to the town of Cool.  Continue on Hwy 49 about 11 more  miles.  You will pass through the town of Coloma, cross over the South Fork of the American River and come to a stop sign where Lotus Road enters from the right.  Go right on Lotus Road about 1 mile to the next stop sign where Bassi road enters on the right.  Turn right on Bassi Road and go about 1 mile to Camp Lotus.  Turn right into Camp Lotus.  We will meet you in the main parking lot area.  Please check in with the camp store before proceeding to the main parking lot.
